The successful candidate for this Elementary Principal position is one with administrative experience who will promote the educational development of each student through the application of exemplary leadership, supervisory, and management skills. Position Summary: The candidate should be able to demonstrate: Experience in providing instructional leadership at the school level in order to develop, implement, and supervise high quality elementary educational programs; Leadership in developing and sustaining a school culture that fosters rigorous instructional expectations for all students; Knowledge, experience and/or training in the daily management and operations of a school building. Experience developing a fiscally responsible budget in alignment with District and Board of Education goals; Solid understanding of the needs of diverse learners and systems of prevention and intervention to support learner needs; Experience in promoting an environment supportive of students’ and staff social and emotional well-being as well as one which is equitable and culturally responsive; Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards & K-6 curriculum; research based practice for instructional design & delivery; and assessment systems for student learning; Demonstrated skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform critical decisions at the school level required; Knowledge, experience and/or prior training qualification with staff evaluation; Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills, required; A proven record of developing positive relationships among students, families, and school staff.
