Interested individuals should submit a letter of application to Mr. Michael Redmond, Director of Athletics (mredmond@wallkillcsd.k12.ny.us), Wallkill Senior High School. Renumeration is in accordance with contract agreements between the Wallkill Central School District and the WTA. Applicants must have completed 1st aid for coaches or responding to emergencies, CPR/AED, a Child Abuse Prevention course, as well as a School Violence prevention course. The applicant must also be fingerprinted and register with the TEACH system to apply for temporary coaching license (if a non-certified teacher) before being allowed to coach. Also, all coaches must complete an approved pre-service or in-service education program for coaches or will complete such a program with five years of appointment. Such programs shall include an approved course in Philosophy, Principles and Organization of Athletics, which shall be completed within two years after the initial appointment as a coach. Subsequent successful completion of approved courses in (1) Theories and Techniques of Coaching and (2) a course in the Health Sciences must be successfully completed within the fifth year from the initial appointment.
