The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the leadership position of Middle School Principal (7-9). The successful candidate must possess valid NYS certification. Please see below for responsibilities and qualifications: Responsibilities: Develop, supervise, and evaluate the district’s instructional programs. Manage the selection, assignment, orientation, and evaluation of staff. Formulate and implement professional development activities. Articulate school programs and initiatives to parents and the community. Interpret and enforce Board of Education policies and regulations. Oversee student attendance, as well as the attendance appeal process. Prepare the school’s annual budget and the master schedule. Supervise and coordinate student discipline. Prepare state and federal educational reports within required deadline. Ensure a positive school climate and supportive learning environment. Qualifications: Valid NYS School Building Leader (SBL) Certification. Experience as a successful leader at the secondary level. A vision for matching the needs of students with the demands of a changing world. Extensive knowledge and experience with teacher supervision and evaluation. Extensive knowledge of lesson planning, design, and implementation. Expertise in data-driven instruction and designing professional development. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the school community, including parents, students, and staff. Demonstrated analytic and problem-solving skills. Comprehensive knowledge of NYS Learning Standards. Experience with managing the budgeting and capital improvement process.
