The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Probationary Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate must possess valid NYS certification. Additional qualifications/responsibilities include:Assist the classroom teacher with setting up and organizing lesson activities. Assist students with academic and/or special education needsSupervise students in the classroom and throughout he school building including instructional spaces, hallways, cafeteria, gymnasium and/or on field trips. Work with individual students or groups of students on instructional projects. Provide teachers with information about students to assist with the development of appropriate learning experiences, based on their IEP's. Assist students in the use of instructional resources and devices. Assist the teacher with the creation of instructional materials: andMaintain a safe and inclusive learning environment under the direct supervision of the assigned teacher.
