The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of District Director of Instruction & Grant Funded Programs. Additional information is outlined below:The primary responsibilities of the District Director of Instruction and Grant Funded Programs are to support the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and will assist in leading and administering the District’s instructional program. This includes supervision and leadership responsibilities for content area Department Chairs. The District Director of Instruction and Grant Funded Programs will also serve as the primary administrator for grant funded programs. Essential responsibilities include coordination of effective professional development opportunities/programs, ensuring appropriate use and application of instructional technology, maintaining district databases, reporting to state and federal agencies, and maintaining a strong understanding of current state and federal laws relative to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and teacher/administrative evaluations. The Director will prepare special reports to the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction as requested. Qualifications: Valid NYS District Administrator Certification Requirements/Responsibilities:Possess a thorough knowledge of NYS Learning Standards, NYS CRSE Framework and NYS Annual Professional Performance ReviewsExtensive experience with teacher supervision and evaluationExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAnalytic and problem-solving skills.Experience with data reporting and analysisAbility to foster collaborative and productive relationships with faculty and administration.Experience designing and implementing innovative instructional and professional development programs.Ability to ensuring compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.Extensive knowledge of technology and software programs related to local, state, and federal reporting.Experience in grant administration (preferred)Ability to design and implement data-driven professional development.Appropriate NYS Administrative and teacher certification.
