Bouton High School Voorheesville, New York 12186 Notice of Vacancy Teaching Assistant 1:1 (HS) The PositionThe Voorheesville Central School District has an immediate full-time, probationary Teaching Assistant position available on the Secondary Campus. The Teaching Assistant will work 1:1 with a special education student in the general education and special education classroom setting. The teaching assistant works closely with the classroom and the special education teachers. Salary and benefits are as noted in the current UEV contract. QualificationsMust be certified as a teaching assistant.Experience working effectively with HS students with a variety of disabilities and special needs preferred.Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Excellent work habits and employment attendance history.Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Excellent references. General Duties1. Provide support to special education students while in the general education class. 2. Assist classroom teacher, special education teacher and related service providers in the implementation of the student’s individual education plan. 3.
