VOORHEESVILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Voorheesville Elementary SchoolVoorheesville, New York Notice of Vacancy Elementary School Tutors for ELA and Math Part-Time Temporary January – April 2024 The PositionThe Voorheesville Central School District has part-time, temporary positions for Tutors to provide academic support in grade level ELA and mathematics. The Tutor(s) will create reading and/or math lessons based on students’ needs. Tutoring will begin in January 3, 2024 and run for 30 half hour sessions. The hours will be from 3:15-3:45 on Wednesdays and Thursdays after school. Pay for current district employees is pro-rated hourly, with an additional hour of planning after every three hours tutored. For other tutors, pay will be commensurate with experience. The following positions are available: Grade 2 (Reading), Grade 3 (Reading), Grade 4 (Math), Grade 5 (Math). QualificationsNew York State Teaching certificate preferred.Experience with NYS elementary reading or math standards.Strong comfort with crafting targeted lessons based upon formative assessments General DutiesPlan math or reading lessons for groups of 4-8 studentsPlan targeted skill lessons based upon student need.Use district resources: Wonders, Bridges, UFLI, IXL or Reflex math.Maintain accurate records for progress monitoring.
