The Valhalla Union Free School District is seeking an Instructional Technology Specialist to support teachers and administrators in grades K-12. Qualified candidates should have the following experiences: designing and delivering high-quality professional development and coaching sessions that empower teachers and administrators to use meaningful digital technologies, developing project-based curriculum with effective technology integration, using Google Apps for Education and Microsoft, teaching coding and digital citizenship, and facilitating instruction in a workshop model.Responsibilities:Report to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.Coach and model the use of innovative instructional technologies.Understand the Next Generation Learning Standards in all content areas.Demonstrate the skills and attitude of a master teacher and actively engage and motivate others in professional growth opportunities.Design, develop and implement technology-rich professional learning programs that model adult learning principles and promote digital-age best practices in instruction, assessment, and data analysis.Include students’ cultural and linguistic references in all aspects of learning.Develop and organize coherent and relevant units, lessons and learning tasks that build upon students’ cultural backgrounds and experiences.Contribute to planning, developing, communicating, implementing, and evaluating technology-infused strategic plans at the district and school levels.Collaborate with faculty and students to provide and expand their project-based learning work with community organizations.Model and facilitate safe, healthy, legal, and ethical uses of digital information and technologies (Ed law 2D Data Privacy).Provide professional learning, coach, and lead the district’s Technology Integration Specialists.Design and promote equitable access to digital tools and resources and technology-related best practices for all students and teachers.Coach and model teachers on promoting creative, higher-order thinking skills and processes, and mental habits of mind (e.g., critical thinking, metacognition, and self-regulation) to address the diverse needs of all learners.Advocate and support inquiry, project, and problem-based learning.Develop and foster relationships with classroom teachers to integrate instructional technology that promotes students’ achievement.Maintain and manage a variety of digital tools and resources for teachers and students to use in technology-rich learning environments.Maintain current knowledge of instructional practices that relate to the use of technology and collaborate as part of a larger technology team.Collaborate with various stakeholders to select and evaluate digital tools and resources that enhance teaching and learning and are compatible with the school technology infrastructure. Requirements:Classroom teaching experience preferred.Highly knowledgeable in integrating instruction technologies.Ability to work collaboratively within the school, district, community, and other professional learning partners.Experience with hands-on inquiry instruction.Knowledge of current best practices in education.Experience coaching teachers and leading professional development.Excellent written and public speaking skills.Apply on OLAS
