English as New Language Teacher for Grades 6-12 RequirementsNew York State Certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Job Description The Valhalla Union Free School District is seeking candidates for a probationary English as a New Language (ENL) teaching position for the 2022-2023 school year. Valid NYS certification as an English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is required. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish are preferred. Job Responsibilities Support the home language needs of students and familiesServe as a resource and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardiansPlan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiencesUtilize formative and summative assessment data to plan instructionIdentify and utilize different instructional resources and methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress.Use technology to support and enhance instruction.Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.Update records accurately and completely as required by laws and district policies.Prepare required progress reports throughout the year.Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities as appropriate.Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the principals or other appropriate administrator
