Title: Administrators-Summer School (Principal and Assistant Principal)Role Description: We are seeking dynamic and experienced Summer School Administrators (Principal and Assistant Principal) to lead and manage our secondary summer school program. These administrators will oversee the planning, implementations, and evaluation of the program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and academically enriching environment for students. The summer school administrators should possess strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to coordinate staff, support students, and foster a positive educational experience. Reports to: The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Qualifications:Valid SBL certificationMinimum of four years of teaching experienceStrong understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practicesExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds including administrators, teachers, staff, parents, guardians, and studentsCommitment to fostering student success and well-beingDesired Experience: Experience supervising summer school or similar programsExperience in secondary curriculum development and instructional practicesFamiliarity with MTSS and interventions that support at-risk studentsDuties & Responsibilities:Review and familiarize self with updated NYS Summer School HandbookPrepares summer school calendar and schedulesCollaborate with C&I and Business Office to manage summer school budgetResponsible for collaborating with building administrators, C&I, and HR to conduct interviews for all summer positions including Regents proctors and gradersCollaborate and assist counselors with registration and scheduling of studentsEffectively communicate with parents, students and staff about program information, daily schedule, Code of Conduct, attendance requirements and any pertinent information for summer schoolAssist in the development and update of the Valley Central Summer School HandbookCollaborate with C&I to oversee summer school curriculum and ensure materials have been ordered and ready for distribution prior to summer school beginningPlan and facilitate a staff orientation prior to summer school beginningMonitor staff attendance and acquire substitute teachers for coverages as neededDaily oversight of middle school and high school instruction, classroom management, food service (if applicable), entry and dismissal of students, parental communication, and health and medical concerns of students (if applicable)Follow all safety procedures according to building safety plan as well as conduct required summer school evacuation drillsResponsible for supervision of all students and attendance monitoring. Document student enrollment and attendance regularly as well as address attendance concerns as needed.Addresses student concerns and behaviors in a timely manner in accordance with the Code of Conduct and take appropriate disciplinary action if necessaryAdministration and oversight of finals and/or Regents exams, as well as the coordination of such testing modifications and scheduling of proctors. This includes assisting counselors in identifying and scheduling students for Regents.Provide student academic information to staff as necessary while adhering to all FERPA regulations Present final program summary presentation to the Board of EducationRate of Pay: Per Diem, Commensurate with Experience Program Dates: Tentative July 7, 2025 - August 7, 2025 (Monday to Thursday)Tentative Times for Administrator: 7:30AM-12:30PM (Approximately 5 Hours)*Pre-planning work will be required before the start of the summer program (i.e. position posting, interviewing, scheduling, student registration, etc)How to Apply: Applications will only be accepted via OLAS.
