Behavior Intervention Specialist: F/T, 10 Mo. To begin 9/1/2023The position is intended to support the school administration, counselors, psychologists, students, and student assistance counselors in handling disruptive behavior in a variety of settings. This candidate should possess a variety of strategies designed to help students change their behavior. The candidate should possess skills in meditation, conflict resolution, investigation, and de-escalation. They should have a keen understanding and the ability to implement restorative practices. Counseling background or experience is preferred. Outstanding interpersonal skills required. Minimum requirement includes a Bachelor’s Degree or higher with certification in respective areaPreferred certification in guidance counseling, social work or other related fields Work will be performed under the general supervision of higher level administrationPosition operates during the calendar school year – under the teacher contractMay facilitate in the implementation of RTI and MTSS practicesProvide counseling support for alternative behavioral programs Coach and support students in proper conflict resolution skills and communication strategiesProvide support and family outreachManages and assists (in the classroom and outside of the classroom) disruptive behaviors of students and crisis situations
