Under the supervision of the Director of Pupil Services the CSE chairperson will partner with families and staff to facilitate the district-wide CSE process, including out-of-district placements and parentally placed students in non-public schools. Qualifications:NYS certification as a school psychologistRecommended minimum five years experience as a CSE Chair/School psychologist in a public school districtKnowledge of NYS Laws, regulations, and best practicesStrong organizational, communication, and collaboration skillsEssential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assist and support the day-to-day management of CSE functions.Chair initial eligibility meetings, reevaluation meetings, and annual reviews.Uphold legal requirements and IDEA regulations and NYSED Part 200 & 201.Assist in the compliance and submission of all NYS Special Education State Performance Plan requirements.Assist with the coordination of all annual review meetings K-12. Determine appropriate programming decisions for students in the least restrictive environment.Coordinate and collaborate with out-of-district placements and non-public schools within the district. Visit and evaluate placement of students in out-of-district placements.Assist with psychological and psycho-educational evaluations.Assist families and providers through ongoing communication and support.Assist in the planning and implementation of staff development in-service training around all CSE responsibilities. Assist in the creation and review of IEP writing, development and implementation.Collaborate with the Director of Pupil Services, Principals, Psychologists, staff and outside placement administrators.Demonstrate strong communication skills and leadership qualities to work effectively with all stakeholders.
