ANTICIPATED VACANCY2024/2025 School Year ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST(Probationary)Qualifications:Must possess a valid NYS Certification in Psychology (All Grades) Job Responsibilities:Utilize crisis intervention and prevention techniques as neededDevelop interventions, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) to foster a safe and conducive educational environment for students with challenging behaviorsProvide counseling, parent training, and direct therapy services as required by a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP), or 504 planChair the Committee on Special Education, overseeing annual reviews, program evaluations, and initial eligibility meetingsConduct initial and re-evaluation psychoeducational assessments for students suspected of having learning disabilitiesCollaborate with school staff and administrators to design, implement, and monitor behavior interventionsAssist in establishing procedures and creating training materials for staff involved with students exhibiting developmental delays or challenging behaviors, enhancing programs in general education settingsConduct workshops, training sessions, and presentations on classroom management techniques and other relevant topics to enhance skills and foster positive relationships with studentsProvide support to parents through individual and group training workshops, empowering them to better understand and support their child's needs Compensation will be in accordance with the Valley Stream Teachers’ Association Agreement Interested candidates can submit their resume, letter of interestand proof of certification at: www.olasjobs.org Address Letter on OLAS to:Mr. Unal KarakasSuperintendent of SchoolsValley Stream School District 24 Applications should be submitted no later than May 12, 2024.
