Valley Stream UFSD 13 is seeking a thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, and collaborative instructional leader to serve as the district Assistant Principal. The successful candidate must be a leader that prioritizes student progress and wellbeing, collaboration, and effective communication with community stakeholders. ANTICIPATED OPENING Assistant Principal 2026-2027 School Year Probationary Position 11 months The successful candidate will: Manage and care for the PreK program at Howell Road and Willow Road Schools Serve as a supportive partner to building principals in developing a vision for and systems within buildings Believe that all students achieve and can work to actualize their potential Be committed to the success of students with diverse needs and backgrounds Promote a caring and nurturing school environment Calmly, positively, and collaboratively manage building operations Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively Work with teams to analyze data and support teachers in designing responsive, targeted instruction for students Effectively address challenges and implement solutions that enhance student well-being and achievement Demonstrate creativity and innovative thinking Be committed to continued professional growth Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience and knowledge of early childhood development required. Experience in an educational leadership role or teacher-leader role preferred.
