Please Post Please Post VALLEY STREAM UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT THIRTEEN “Where Children Come First” The Valley Stream Union Free School District Thirteen, a high-quality culturally diverse elementary school district located in Nassau County, New York, is currently seeking an Elementary School Speech Teacher 2026-2027 School Year Probationary Position The successful candidate will have: Previous school experience as a Speech teacher Experience with augmentative communication devices preferred Proven leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Ability to engage, motivate and challenge students Proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and partner with students & parents in the learning process Demonstrated understanding of authentic assessment, data-driven instruction, and methods for gathering and evaluating evidence of deeper learning accounting for learning differences Experience with the various co-teach models, collaborative lesson planning, and team-teaching.
