Probationary Elementary Principal Location: Howell Road Elementary School Job Type: Full time (11 month) Start Date: July 1, 2025 Qualifications:New York State administrative certification required (SDA, SAS, SBL).Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience with at least two years of elementary leadership experience. Commitment to the belief that all students achieve and can work to actualize their potential. Commitment to the success of students with diverse needs and backgrounds, including previous experience in working with students who are learning English as a New Language.Knowledge of special education law. Considers students’ wellbeing in all plans and decision-making. Prioritizes building positive and productive relationships with all stakeholders. Proven outstanding interpersonal communication skills with demonstration of emotional intelligence. Knowledge of literacy and numeracy development including the grades PreK-3 New York State early literacy requirements. Knowledge of New York State standards and assessments with the ability to work with teams to analyze data to support teachers in designing responsive, targeted instruction for students. Experience with developing systems to approach curriculum implementation and to support teaching and learning. Effectively addresses challenges and implements solutions that enhance student well-being and achievement. Demonstrates creativity and innovative thinking.
