Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen585 North Corona AvenueValley Stream, New York 11580 Summer Recreation Staffing July 7th - August 1st, 2025Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PMWheeler Avenue School Summer Recreation DirectorRESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee daily operations in conjunction with the Summer School PrincipalCollaborate with the Summer School Principal and Assistant Directors Create, organize, schedule and manage daily Summer Recreation activitiesSupervise Summer Recreation events and weekly field tripsCreate a positive, engaging, and meaningful environment for students and staffQUALIFICATIONS:Certified educator Assistant Director (2)RESPONSIBILITIES:Work in conjunction with the Summer Recreation Director Assist with the facilitation of daily group activitiesProvide additional support to Summer Recreation counselors, junior counselors, and volunteersCreate and facilitate new initiatives and Summer Recreation eventsQUALIFICATIONS:Certified educator CounselorRESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise daily student participation and engagement during daily activities Manage student daily schedule and student attendanceCollaborate with Summer Recreation Junior Counselor and staffSupervise students during Summer Recreation events and weekly field trips QUALIFICATIONS:Counselors must have graduated high school by June 2025.Must be at least 18 by December 31st, 2025.Proof of fingerprinting by the NYSED Department must be submitted if 18 years old prior to the start of the program or at any time during the Summer Recreation Program. Certified Counselor RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise daily student participation and engagement during daily activities Manage student daily schedule and student attendanceSupervise students during Summer Recreation events and weekly field trips QUALIFICATIONS:Proof of certification must be presented before the first day of the program to be paid at the certified rate. Proof of certification is not required if it is currently on file with the Summer Recreation Program or with District #13. Proof is required if it is on file in other Valley Stream districts.
