PLEASE POST PLEASE POST Valley Stream Union Free School District Thirteen585 North Corona AvenueValley Stream, New York 11580 Anticipated Opening – Occupational Therapist2024-2025 School Year The Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen is looking for a licensed Occupational Therapist to work in an elementary school setting to restore or improve physical abilities, promote behavioral changes, adapt surroundings, and teach new skills. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the students in his/her caseload achieve their best physical and/or mental functioning in daily life and academic tasks. The Occupational Therapist will provide these services on the referral or prescription of a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. The Occupational Therapist will design, maintain, improve, or restore function in all education-related activities, including neuro-musculoskeletal function, motor function; including fine motor, oral motor, and visual motor integration; sensory and perceptual function; cognitive, and psychosocial function. Activities need to emphasize independence in daily living skills and school participation in various setting including classroom, bathroom, cafeteria, playground.
