1.0 Probationary Special Education Teacher (K-12)The Union Springs Central School District is seeking a K-12 Special Education teacher in support of students’ learning goals and skill development. The ideal candidate will want to work with students across the grade levels, and be able to effectively differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students while maintaining a positive classroom environment supportive of student needs. This position will initially support students at the secondary and intermediate level. Responsibilities include:Delivery of Specially Designed Instruction as aligned with grade level content;Provide individualized instruction to all students and analyzes all student's progress;Carrying out and maintaining all instructional aspects of a student’s IEP;Completing progress reports and Annual Review reports for the IEPs;Delivering classroom instructional programs and adjusting based on the needs of the students;Maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to instruction;Report to parents and administrators the educational process of all students enrolled. This includes activities such as progress reports, achievement and diagnostic educational evaluations;Participate in meetings and parent conferences to review the programs and progress of students;Working with a team of professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and school counselors to support student learning;Collaborating with regular education teachers to ensure students are included in general education classes to the greatest extent possible.Salary and benefits per USTA contract.Minimum Salary: $55,995.00
