Position open to retireesThis Coordinator position is responsible for chairing the Committee on Special Education for students. All of the duties below fall under this district level position, as well as other duties assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Data, Planning, Assessment & Accountability.Serve as a Chairperson of the CSE, CPSE and 504 meetings.Work collaboratively with building level administrators to ensure implementation of special education servicesAssist with staffing, observation/evaluation, and professional developmentContribute to the development of the special education budgetReview, evaluate and make recommendations for K-12 Special Education programs to ensure effectiveness and best-practice implementation.Collaborate with Principals, Directors, Faculty and Staff to enhance Special Education programs, curriculum, and services.Conduct formal and informal observations of Special Education Faculty and Staff.Collaborate in the creation and delivery of professional development opportunities in Special Education in compliance with Federal and State requirements.Participate in the interview & hiring process for Special Education and PPS staff members.Supervise all Sub-CSE Chairs and building level 504 Chairs.Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent/designee.Candidate must be highly a motivated district leader with leadership and supervisory experience. In addition, she/he will be focused on assisting and collaborating with District administration and staff in the implementation of District initiatives, priorities and goals. Successful candidate must possess strong communication skills; exceptional knowledge of special education service delivery and instructional practices; ability to collaborate well with all stakeholders; and a record of successful experience as an administrator.Preferred Qualification: Multi-lingualRequired NYSED Certification: School District Leader or School District Administrator
