The Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center is seeking an individual with strong organization, customer service, analytical and computer skills to train and support school districts with the efficient management of financial software in our four county region. Experience with the nVision and WinCap Financial Management Software is strongly preferred. Ability to develop training materials and provide presentations to individuals or groups is required. This position provides general and technical training and support for school district personnel, as well as interfaces with Regional Information Center personnel. Experience in a school district or an extensive understanding of payroll processing, accounting and personnel management systems is a plus. All Civil Service rules and regulations apply.Civil Service Classification: Competitive. Merit and fitness competitive examination applies.Salary commensurate with experience and training. Salary range: $55,000 to $60,000GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Organizes and coordinates financial applications for school districts. Consults with school contact persons for system requirements and processes, orientation, training, technical support, suggestions and other application requirements. Interfaces with Regional Information Center (RIC) personnel. This position requires a general understanding of applications including general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll.WORK SCHEDULE:This is a full time, 12-month service professional position.Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pmSPECIFIC DUTIES:1. Specializes in training new and/or experienced school district administrators and support personnel in the use of computerized applications through individual district and/or group meetings.2. Prepares appropriate documentation for applications.3. Conducts presentations for potential users and other interested groups.4. Trains Regional Information Center personnel on applications.5. Coordinates user group sessions for the sharing of common problems and solutions.6. Assists prioritizing the enhancements and maintenance for applications.7. Provides telephone assistance.8. Serves as liaison for financial applications for school districts.9. Consults with school district administrators and support personnel on the development, maintenance and effectiveness of applications.10. Recommends system modifications or revisions which will improve the tasks of users as well as center staff.11. Prepares materials for meetings and training sessions, which support application requirements.12. Works with Computer Center staff to improve current services.13. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Computer Services and/or immediate supervisor.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. Graduation from a New York State registered or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree, which included or was supplemented by fifteen (15) credit hours* in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Resources Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or closely related field and one (1) year (full-time paid, or its’ part-time equivalent) experience in using a computerized financial system; ORB. Graduation from a New York State registered or regionally accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree, which included or was supplemented by fifteen (15) credit hours* in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Resources Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or closely related field and three (3) years (full-time paid, or its’ part-time equivalent) experience in using a computerized financial system, which includes one (1) year of experience in applying technology training and/or support by phone or on-site to users; ORC. Successful completion of fifteen (15) credit hours* in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Resources Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or closely related field offered by a technical training institute, college or a corporate training program and four (4) years (full-time paid, or its’ part-time equivalent) experience in using a computerized financial system, which includes one (1) year of experience in applying technology training and/or support by phone or on-site to users; ORD. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years (full-time paid, or its’ part-time equivalent) experience in using a computerized financial system, which includes (2) years of experience in applying technology training and/or support by phone or on-site to users; ORE.
