We support child specific multidisciplinary and evidence-based approach to treatment.Tradewinds School- Age Program: Our student population consists of individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. This is a Special Education Program rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis strategies as a best practice to improve quality outcomes for our students. We provide safe, dignified, and effective services through the use of evidence-based practices.As an agency, we promote training and support for our speech therapists with continuing education. Included in this is training and support related to a variety of communication modalities and assistive technology so that we can achieve optimal outcomes in functional communication for our students.SLPs as communication specialists focus on:· Building functional communication so that our students can fully access their education· Communicate their wants and needs· Excel academically· Build confidence and social emotional well-being.· SLPs also address any feeding issues and participate in ongoing observation/monitoring in this area.Education/Licensure Requirements:· Masters in Speech-Language Pathology· Valid New York State license and registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist.· Certificate Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology or Eligibility
