When you join our team, you will have access to consultants, lower caseloads, 12-month school calendar, excellent benefits and competitive wages.The Tradewinds School- Age Program Description: Our student population consists of individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. This is a Special Education Program rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis strategies as a best practice to improve quality outcomes for our students. We provide safe, dignified, and effective services through the use of evidence-based practices.Therapists collaborate with each student’s IEP team. Part of each IEP team includes a Special Education Teacher and a Board Certified Behavior Analysts. The team works together on problem solving barriers to learning in this complex population. The professionally certified staff work together to develop and implement IEP goals based on student specific needs as part of the IEP Team. This collaboration leads to better outcomes for the students in our program by enhancing skill acquisition and ultimately increasing independence and quality of life. We aim to build the essential skills that can support students in returning to a less restrictive environment.In our School-Age model:-SLPs as communication specialists focus on building functional communication so that our students can communicate their wants and needs, which assists in reducing challenging problem behavior. SLPs also address any feeding issues and participate in ongoing observation/monitoring in this area.Education/Licensure Requirements:Masters in Speech-Language Pathology and valid New York State license and registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist.Certificate Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology or EligibilityOur work environment provides the opportunity to grow and learn in a fast-paced atmosphere.
