Title: Assistant Certified Athletic TrainerRequirements: BS/MS in Athletic Training NYS Certified Athletic Trainer BOC Certified Athletic TrainerKey Functions: Promote safe and appropriate practice, competition and treatment facilitiesAdvise on the selection, fit, function and maintenance of athletic equipmentDevelop and implement a comprehensive emergency action planDevelop injury and illness prevention strategiesProvide for on-site recognition, evaluation, and immediate treatment of injury and wellness, with appropriate referralsFacilitate rehabilitation and reconditioningHelp to establish protocols regarding environmental conditionsWork in conjunction with the Head ATC, Department Chairperson and athletic supervisors at Gelinas and Murphy Junior High Schools to provide support in the aforementioned areasAssist in game coverage at the High School and Jr High Schools.Assist in Concussion Management and ImPact TestingResponsible for appropriate record keeping and completing District insurance forms as needed.Assist in organization and inventory of supplies at HS & Jr High Schools. Submitting annual budget for medical supplies for the year.Preparing and maintaining first aid kits, water coolers and ice chests for all teams.
