This educational leadership position oversees the Pre K-5 academic program leading a team of dedicated faculty and staff. For the candidate with successful experience in curriculum, instruction, and leadership, there is an opportunity for this position to be Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction/Elementary Principal.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Administrative (SAS, SBL or SDA) certification. 3+ years of successful administrative experience. Knowledge of current trends and impact of those trends to student population and growth Prior experience and success with implementing best practices in elementary education. Experience with state evaluations, teacher APPR and student supervision. A child-centered philosophy, with proven ability as a rigorous academic leader, innovative planner and effective communicator with excellent time management skills. Adept at using technology as integrated learning tool. Successful teaching experience. Collaborative approach to leadership. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Proven ability to positively influence school culture. Comprehensive knowledge of NYS learning standards and assessments with ability to use data to inform decision making and target instruction in order to strengthen student achievement. An understanding of and vision for supporting educational programs to meet the academic social, emotional and physical needs of students. Demonstrated experience in understanding data and using it to drive instruction and student achievement. Collaborate with building and district leadership team to support teaching and learning of 21st century skills. Proven ability to positively influence school culture. Understanding of English Language Learners and ENL instruction. Familiarity with the support state roles associated with various special education programs. RESPONSIBILITIES: Participation in planning and decision making that advances the interests of educational programs. Evaluation of certified and non-certified staff. Develop, implement, and monitor effective building safety, emergency and disaster procedures, including safety inspection, drill practice, and arrival/dismissal procedures. Successful development and implementation of the master and related schedules (supervision duties, extra-curricular clubs, special programs, common planning, observations). Commitment to active parent involvement and the promotion of respect for the school community. Commitment to the academic, social and emotional success of all students. Work collaboratively as a member of the administrative team and professional learning community. Responsible for the successful implementation of all testing and NYS reporting requirements.? Organize and administer the local and state testing programs and other assessment activities to evaluate student progress and program effectiveness.? Develop and implement a professional development plan to meet NYSED guidelines and provide appropriate orientation, pre-service training, in-service training, and other professional growth opportunities for staff.? Align and implement the curriculum with state standards/frameworks, district goals, and student and teacher performance objectives in all subject areas.
