Position: Chemistry & Earth Science Teacher (Secondary) Location: Tuckahoe Union Free School - Middle and High School Start Date: September 1, 2026 Position Type: Full-Time, Tenure-Track Job Summary The Tuckahoe Union Free School District is seeking an innovative, student-centered educator to serve as a Chemistry and Earth Science Teacher at the middle and high school levels. This tenure-track opportunity is designed for a highly qualified professional who is passionate about science education and committed to fostering student achievement through engaging, inquiry-based instruction. The successful candidate will teach Chemistry and Earth Science courses, delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that promotes scientific literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning environment that i nspires curiosity and prepares students for success in college, careers, and citizenship. Job Responsibilities Teach Regents and/or high school-level Chemistry and Earth Science courses aligned with New York State Science Learning Standards. Design and implement engaging, hands-on laboratory and field-based learning experiences that promote scientific inquiry. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support student growth. Utilize data-driven instructional practices to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and achievement. Prepare students for success on Regents examinations and other assessments. Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance learning. Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding academic progress and student needs. Participate in departmental, school, and district initiatives and contribute positively to the school community. Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with instructional practices, curriculum developments, and content knowledge. Qualifications Required Qualifications Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Chemistry (7–12) and Earth Science (7–12) required. Strong content knowledge in chemistry and earth science, including laboratory and field-based instruction. Experience teaching Regents-level science courses preferred. Knowledge of New York State Science Learning Standards and Regents examination requirements. Ability to design and deliver differentiated, standards-based instruction. Experience integrating technology into science instruction. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and maintaining high expectations for all students. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
