Tuckahoe Union Free School District (Anticipated Vacancy) Position: Cleaner Position Type: Full-Time Work Hours: 2:30–10:30 PM Salary Range: $37,880–$42,838/year Location: Middle School/High School Anticipated Start Date: April 6, 2026 Application Deadline: April 5, 2026 (Applicants will be screened on a rolling basis) Job Summary: Tuckahoe UFSD is seeking dependable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Cleaner. This position supports the Facilities Department by helping to Clean and maintain the school buildings. Key Responsibilities: ? Deep-clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas ? Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors ? Wash windows, walls, desks, and lockers ? Disinfect high-touch surfaces and sanitize facilities ? Move furniture and equipment as needed ? Assist in setup or breakdown of school spaces for summer programs or renovations ? Remove trash and recyclables ? Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards ? Follow all safety procedures and school policies Qualifications: ? Prior cleaning or custodial experience is a plus, but not required ? Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs, standing for long periods, bending, and reaching ? Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team ?
