The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching upper-level mathematics, particularly Algebra II and Calculus, and a commitment to student-centered learning. This is a full-time, tenure-track position that offers the opportunity for long-term professional growth within a collaborative school environment.Key Responsibilities:Instructional Duties:Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging daily lessons in upper-level math courses, including Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus (AP or non-AP).Align instruction with state standards (e.g., Common Core or Regents, depending on state) and district curriculum guidelines.Use a variety of instructional techniques to meet diverse student needs, including differentiated instruction and inquiry-based learning.Integrate appropriate technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and student understanding.Assessment and Evaluation:Design, administer, and grade assessments (formative and summative) to monitor and evaluate student progress.Use data to inform instruction and provide targeted feedback and support.Prepare students for standardized tests and internal exams, including Regents, SAT, and AP (if applicable).Classroom and Behavior Management:Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student learning.Establish and enforce rules, routines, and procedures for effective classroom management.Promote a culture of high expectations, academic integrity, and mutual respect.Collaboration and Professional Growth:Collaborate with colleagues in the Math Department and across disciplines for curriculum planning and interdisciplinary initiatives.Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and committee work.Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and support staff about academic progress and behavioral expectations.Skills and Attributes:Passion for mathematics and enthusiasm for working with high school students.Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.Please forward the cover letter and resume: Jannet Porras, Personnel Clerk Office of Human Resources Tuckahoe Union Free School District 65 Siwanoy Boulevard, Eastchester, NY 10709 Or apply online at www.olasjobs.org.
