ELA TeacherWith approximately 4,000 students, Troy is a small urban school district in NY’s Capital Region. Our learning community values our ethnic, social and cultural diversity. The Troy Community School is looking for a highly motivated English teacher to help lead our community of at risk high school students. This teacher should be passionate about students who are historically underserved and feel disenfranchised from a traditional school model. Candidates should excel at building trust and promoting positive relationships with young people in difficult situations. We are seeking an individual who is driven by a core purpose focused on preparing students placed at risk to be successful for life.It is the mission of the Troy Community School staff to provide a strong educational and social foundation to graduate all students, college and career ready. Our staff will do this by providing our students with a positive school experience that allows them to challenge themselves to be their best, while also helping them grow as individuals to be prepared for life after high school.The position if full time temporary and will begin in February 2023 and run through the end of the school year.
