Job description: New York Therapy Placement Services, Inc., is seeking in-person Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEITs). Teaching opportunities across Long Island in Suffolk and Nassau County. SEITs provide direct 1:1 teaching to preschoolers in UPKs, preschools, daycares and homes. Job Responsibilities:Maintaining positive relationships with parents, teachers, related service providers and supervisorsEvaluating and assessing the student’s needsUtilizing positive behavior support strategiesAdapting teaching methods and providing resources to meet the needs of the studentFollowing all mandates on an IEPPlanning activities/lessons to target the IEP goals/objectivesTaking data on the goals/objectives to track progressComplete sessions notes and service coordinationComplete quarterly progress marksComplete annual review report(s)Attend CPSE meeting(s) for student(s) Job Qualifications:New York State Certification: Students with Disabilities (Birth to grade 2)Strong written and oral communication skillsMust plan and prioritize work effectivelyProfessional, dependable and responsibleMust keep to strict deadlines for reporting as is requiredBilingual Language Extension for bilingual cases Benefits:Competitive rates and rapid payments.
