Tiegerman School is a special education program servicing children with autism spectrum disorders from preschool through high school. Language is a symbol system; it provides the means to reach out to the world. Tiegerman High School is looking for a Social Studies Teacher to join our team! Schedule: Days: Monday to Friday Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Salary Range: $59,000 - $85,000 (annually)* *Salary is determined based on levels of completed education and experience. Requirements: Living Environment/Biology 7-12 Certificate Students With Disabilities All Grades or 7-12 Certificate 1-2 years of experience in a school setting preferred Job Description The Living Environment Teacher is responsible for providing instruction aligned with the state learning standards and established curriculum that meets the needs of each individual student, to establish a nurturing and supportive learning environment, to monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior, and to work collaboratively with parents and other members of the school staff. The Living Environment Teacher is an exempt position. NYSED Teacher Certification is required. The Living Environment Teacher reports directly to the Coordinators and the Principals. *Tiegerman is an AA and EEO employer.
