The Accounting Associate & Entitlement Specialist is responsible for overseeing the finances and benefits of Tiegerman residents’ and recording and maintaining billing and vendor invoice processing. The Accounting Associate & Entitlement Specialist reports directly to the Senior Accountant. No NYSED Certification is required. The Accounting Associate & Entitlement Specialist is a non-exempt position and requires an educational level of either a bachelor’s in the field of Accountancy or a Master’s in Business Administration with credits earned in courses related to the field of Accountancy.ResponsibilitiesAccounting and preparation of documents for IRA residents, including but not limited to:Participant Personal Needs Allowance,Participant benefits such as SNAP, HEAP, SSI/OTDA, Clothing, etc.,Handling of benefit recertification for IRA residents including Medicaid,Review of Participant Financial Ledgers; andPreparation of Residents’ Financial Audit ReportsProcessing and recording of Medicaid billing and supportive employment services,Analysis and input of vendor expenditures,Preparation of month-end accounts payable and accounts receivable reports,Prepare soft journal entries and adjustments,Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations,Prepare bank deposits,Preparation of maintenance of revenue-supporting worksheets,Assist in the preparation of the New York State Annual Consolidated Fiscal Report,Support Business Office team members; andOther tasks or assignments assigned by department supervisors or managers.Tiegerman is an EEO and AA Employer
