Tiegerman School is looking for an experienced Human Resources Assistant to join our team!Tiegerman School is a special education program servicing children preschool through grade 12.The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for all Human Resources activities in our Preschool Program based out of Far Rockaway. The Human Resources Assistant reports directly to the Human Resources Coordinator. The Human Resources Assistant is a non-exempt position. This position will be based out of our new Far Rockaway location. Trainings and monthly meetings will be held in our main Glen Cove location.Responsibilities (include but not limited to):Review and process employment applications and resumesExplain company policies and procedures to all applicants and employees of TiegermanAnswer employee questions pertaining to benefits, medical forms, time off policies, time and attendance records, employment opportunities, salary inquiries, etc.Maintain time and attendance and payroll records for all employeesGather personnel records for each employee upon hire and ensure that paperwork is up to date on an annual basisPhone screen and interview applicants for vacant positionsConduct verifications of employment for all potential employeesPresent at orientation for all new staff membersMaintains Human Resources Information SystemsProvides disciplinary action to employees as neededEnsure that all medical records are in compliance with NYSED and NYCDOHMHReview and modify time and attendance records on a bi-weekly basis; directly tied to biweekly payrollMaintain and upkeep personnel records for all staff membersPost jobs for vacant positions on social media websites and inform employees of vacant positions within the organizationEnsure that all pre-employment clearances and new hire paperwork are compliant with NYSED, NYCDOE and NYCDOHMHExperience with NYSED, NYCDOHMH and NYCDOE preferred.Tiegerman is an EEO/AA Employer.
