Tiegerman High School is looking for a leave replacement School Social Worker to join our team!The School Social Worker promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by providing services to strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning. School Social Workers assist students with academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address social-emotional- environmental issues that interfere with educational process. The School Social Worker advances the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of the family, community, and cultural differences on student success and implements effective intervention strategies. Working with parents/guardians, teachers, principals, and school officials as well as community based resources; the school social worker utilizes strategies that promote positive school adjustment. The School Social Worker functions include but are not limited to; Assessment of student, family and school needs, direct services/service delivery, advocacy, consultation and collaboration, program planning, implementation, and maintain accountability. The School Social Worker reports directly to the Building Principal. Social Worker is an exempt position.Tiegerman is an AA and EEO employer.
