Ticonderoga Central School has an opening for a Computer Technician . We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computer Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining computer systems and networks. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems and network protocols, as well as excellent customer service skills to assist students and staff effectively. This is a year-round position that includes School Holidays off and 20 days of vacation time, NYS retirement, benefit package, starting salary $42,000 (salary will be commensurate with experience). Duties include but not limited to: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and servers. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems with a strong emphasis on MacOS Monitor network performance and security by managing firewalls and TCP/IP configurations. Analyze system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting users with technical inquiries and support requests. Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for complex technical problems. Experience Proven experience in a computer technician role or similar IT support position. Strong knowledge of operating systems (MacOS and GoogleChromeOS preferred) and networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls). Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and techniques for both hardware and software issues. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to diagnose problems quickly and efficiently. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
