There is latitude for independent judgement withinestablished guidelines and procedures. In the collection of data, this position will have considerable contact with registrationstaff, administrators, teaching staff, and parents. Supervision is not an aspect of this position. The work is performed under thedirect supervision of the Superintendent of Schools or school district administrator. The incumbent does related work asrequired.TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Performs timely data verification and consistency checks across multiple Student DataManagement Systems, Employee Management Systems, Student Learning and Assessment Management Systems to ensureintegrity of the district’s data; Full working knowledge of all NYSED reporting systems and upgrades, including NYSED IRS,NYSSIS portals; Oversees attendance, and longitudinal testing applications; Manages the collection and verification of datafor the Student Data Management System, Special Education Student Management System, Student Learning and AssessmentManagement Systems; Assists school district users in the operation of the Student Data Management Systems, StudentLearning and Assessment Management Systems that will include training of users personnel and troubleshooting to identify andresolve user and system problems; Communicates with software vendors’ Help Desk support personnel and District technologydepartment managers in dealing with technical issues that arise; Maintains the Student Data Management Systems, StudentLearning and Assessment Management Systems software documentation libraries; Performs data verification for federal andstate reporting ensuring the timely and accurate submission to NYSED; Makes recommendations to the Superintendent orschool district administrator relative to the current and future Information technology needs of the districts; Collects data fromvarious school and community sources and enters it in a school district database, and completes reporting as necessary;Performs special projects as requested by the school superintendent or a school district administratorMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high-school equivalency diploma and EITHER:(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regentsto grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Processing or aclosely related field; OR(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one Accredited by the New York State Board of Regentsto grant degrees, with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Processing or aclosely related field and two years of work experience in the operation of an electronic computer, which involved theadaptation of software to database management systems; OR(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above;All applicants must reside in the Columbia County, NY.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS: In accordance with the Safe Schools AgainstViolence in Education (SAVE) legislation, Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and by the Regulations of the Commissioner ofEducation, candidates for appointment in school districts must obtain clearance for employment from the State EducationDepartment prior to employment based upon a fingerprint and criminal history background check.DATE: August 15, 2022POSITION: School Data Coordinator/Analyst (Civil Service)(Taconic Hills Middle Management Association) RATE OF PAY: Commensurate with experienceQUALIFICATIONS: See attached Civil Service job description.
