The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns are seeking a dedicated and experienced candidate for the position of Director of Technology. The ideal candidate will manage all planning and systems associated with technology and project management as assigned by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. The Director will establish, evaluate, and maintain information and communication systems for the school district. In addition, the Director, in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction, will oversee professional development of staff on the integration of technology into districtwide curriculums.CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: NYS SDL Certification RequiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ? Two (2) years of experience in an administrative role? Educational studies/degree in Education Technology/Educational Leadership? Experience in a school district or equivalent setting? Knowledge of 21st-century curriculum and emerging technologies and their applications? Excellent communication and writing skills KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Collaborate with building leadership teams and other curriculum leaders as needed to plan, organize, control, direct, and evaluate a variety of programs, projects, and activities related to technology. Develop, implement and manage the district’s information collection, recording, reporting and communication needs including LANs/WANs, and management of the district’s phone system (typically VoIP). Pursues and secures cost effective or cost shifting measures to fund technology initiatives, including applying for and monitoring technology grants. Keeps abreast of current and future trends in educational technology (i.e.- attends conferences, liaises with SWBOCES, LHRIC and other technology consultants). Develops and maintains disaster recovery plan for technology. Regularly meets with technology department to prioritize workload and maximize technology stability. Manages all contracts for all peripheral equipment that is connected to the district's network: printers, fax machines, copiers, etc. Follows NYSED regulations/laws to set policies and procedures for network users, rights and passwords; Manages the requirements of ED Law 2-d and the NIST Framework. Manages Data Privacy Agreements and Parent’s Bill of Rights for third party vendors. Oversees technology driven applications such as NYS testing districtwide, APPR data, Regents scoring, electronic report cards assuring timeliness. Provides monthly technology updates to BOE and Administration. Develops and manages a fiscally responsible annual budget; presents to BOE.
