Public Schools of the TarrytownsCSE/CPSE ChairpersonThe Public Schools of the Tarrytowns are seeking a dedicated CSE Chairperson to plan, organize, and implement appropriate programming to address the learning needs of students with varying abilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IDEA, NYS Regulations and experience in supporting students in diverse settings. Bilingual Spanish speaking candidates encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Work 20 days during the Summer months at a per diem contractual rateCollaborate with Director of Special Ed to coordination of all annual review meetings K-12The CSE Chairperson will assist and support the day-to-day management of CSE functions district wideUphold legal requirements and IDEA regulations and NYSED Part 200 & 201Assist the Director of Special Education in the compliance and submission of all NYS Special Education State Performance Plan requirementsDetermine appropriate programming decisions for students in the least restrictive environmentFacilitate Committee on Special Education meetingsMonitor the delivery of special education programs and services to ensure compliance with legal guidelines and provide technical assistance, resources and support as neededEngage special education and related service staff to ensure high quality programs and services are provided pursuant to each student’s IEPAssist families and providers through ongoing communication and supportAssist in the planning and implementation of staff development in-service training around all CSE responsibilitiesMonitor and assist providers with IEP writing, development and implementationCollaborate with district level administrators, principals, assistant principals, and special education teachers as well as other specialistsDemonstrate strong communication skills and leadership qualities to work effectively with all stakeholders.Perform other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services and/or the Director for Special EducationRequired NYS Certification(s): NYS Certified Special Education, School Psychologist, Social Worker, or other related field + NYS SDL/SDA (School District Leader/Administrator) a Plus Appointment Type: Probationary TrackEffective: September 1, 2025This is a 10-month position (must work 20 days during the summer months). The employee must coordinate these dates with the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services, including for the summer of 2025.Salary: Salary and benefits per the TAT Contract—range for teachers based on experience and education.Must attend New Educators’ Meetings (August dates TBD), and Superintendent’s Conference Days, August 27th & 28th).
