Washington Irving Elementary SchoolDual Language Elementary TeacherEnglish ZoneThe successful candidate will work with students to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of students with diverse learning needs inclusive but not limited to students with varying abilities and English language learners. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and believe in the mission and goal of bilingual education. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Co-planning with his/her Spanish zone teacher, execute NYS standards aligned lessons, provide direct instruction to students in the target language in whole class and/or small group settings with fidelity to the target language, establish clear learning objectives for all lessons using formal and informal assessment data to gauge student learning in the target language, use a variety of research based best practices to support language acquisition and literacy development across content in the target language, infuse culturally relevant practices into lesson design, ensuring that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students, engage in regular collaborative planning and professional development staying current on educational research to inform instructional practices.Required NYS Certification(s): Childhood Education 1-6/ TESOL Certification a Plus but not requiredAppointment Type: Probationary TrackEffective: September 1, 2025 Salary: Salary and benefits per the TAT Contract—range for teachers based on experience and education.Must attend New Educators’ Meetings (August dates TBD), and Superintendent’s Conference Days, August 27th & 28th).
