Morse SchoolSpecial Education Teacher (Grades 1-2)Probationary The Successful candidate should have the following skills or expertise: Experience in 12:1 setting preferred.Knowledge of direct instruction methods and errorless teachingKnowledge and expertise with primary mathematics and in providing math remediation.Knowledge and expertise in “data-driven decision making.”Special education classroom teaching experience in various settings, including Integrated Co-Teach, 15:1, 12:1Collaboration with faculty, staff and administration A belief in high expectations for all studentsCreate, modify, and progress monitor student IEPs.Implement IEPs, including students’ special education program, to meet goals and utilize accommodations and modifications.Complete standardized academic assessmentsCollaborate with Related Service Providers to ensure all mandated and building-level services are implemented.Prepare for and participate in Program Reviews, Annual Reviews, and Initial IEP meetings. Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS/RTI) MeetingsCommunicate with outside providers/agencies to support students.Knowledge of culturally relevant pedagogyCERTIFICATION: Students with Disabilities, New York State CertificationTYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Probationary/Tenure Track EFFECTIVE: September 1, 2024 (Will be expected to attend New Teacher Orientation, (August 23, 26, 27, and Supt. Days August 28, 29)Salary and benefits as per the TAT Contract – range for teachers based on experience and education is approximately $65,849-$86,424.
