Sleepy Hollow High School Probationary / Tenure Track Special Education Mathematics TeacherThe Public Schools of the Tarrytowns is seeking candidates for an anticipated Math Special Education Teacher position to teach students with learning disabilities and/or emotional needs. Responsibilities include: Delivering classroom instructional program and adjusting based on the needs of the students.Monitoring and assessing student progress and behavior.Collaborating with General Education Teachers.Carrying out and maintaining all instructional aspects of a student’s IEP.Completing progress reports and Annual Review reports for the IEPs. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the NYS Next Generation Math Standards, have experience working with special education students in a variety of contexts, demonstrate an understanding of effective pedagogical practices that promote a student-centered learning environment, and feel comfortable integrating technology as an instructional and learning tool.CERTIFICATION: New York State Students with Disability Math (Grades 7-12) or Students withDisabilities Generalist (Grades 7-12) & Mathematics (Grades 7-12).TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Probationary/Tenure TrackEFFECTIVE: September 1, 2024 (Will be expected to attend New Teacher Orientation, August 23, 26, 27, and Supt. Days August 28, 29)Salary and benefits as per the TAT Contract – range for teachers based on experience and education is approximately $65,242-$86,242 with a differential to work 10 days in the summer.
