NOTICE OF ANTICIPATED OPENING2023-2024 Sleepy Hollow Middle SchoolAttendance Officer (Spanish Speaking) PROVISIONAL POSITION: must qualify to take the Civil Service Exam, pass, and be reachable to become a probationary employee. Primary role: This position will investigate student absenteeism and report findings to the administration. Incumbents must be fluent in both Spanish and English with strong verbal and written skills. Responsibilities can include along with other related work as assigned:Reviewing and analyzing student absentee reports.Making home visits.Travelling in the community during school hours to check students’ whereabouts.Working as a liaison in the community and with the family court system.Investigating legal residency.Preparing reports and using computer software applications. Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either: (a) two (2) years of experience working with the public; or (b) an Associate’s Degree; or (c) a satisfactory equivalent combination of the foregoing training and experience.
