Special Education Teacher H.B. Thompson Middle School Available on August 25, 2026 The Syosset Central School District is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and highly collaborative Special Education Teacher to join our middle school faculty. This anticipated vacancy is a probationary appointment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both Mathematics and Science instruction for grades 6, 7, and 8, and possess the skills necessary to support diverse learners in multiple classroom settings. The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications: Hold NYSED certification in Teaching Students with Disabilities (Grades 5-9 or 7-12 Generalist/Content Specialist) Dual NYS Certification in Mathematics or Science preferred Experience or familiarity with 15:1:1 and ICT service delivery models Strong content knowledge in Middle School Math and Science curricula Prior successful experience teaching Special Education Exemplary understanding of IEP development and implementation Expertise in differentiated instruction to support student success and growth Possess innovative skills using instructional technology Ability to collaborate with a highly respected faculty and staff Please submit an application, resume, and cover letter on OLAS to the attention of: Kevin Bonanno Principal H.B.
