Performs routine clerical work involving the keeping of financial records and accounts; performs related duties as required. Provisional appointment-must be reachable on the Civil Service list. JOB DESCRIPTION1. Reviews purchase orders, invoices, and receiving paperwork for accuracy.2. Prepares accounts payable checks.3. Confers with other departments to resolve account discrepancies.4. Research and answer vendor inquiries.5. Provides reports and analysis of vendor payments as requested6. Uses electronic financial system to process payments7. Sorts and classifies requisitions and vouchers, codes vouchers.8. Posts to ledger accounts from expense and appropriation records.9. Reconciles vendors' monthly statements.10. Writes receipts for incoming cash.11. Operates simple office machines.12. Maintains running balance of unencumbered and cash funds.13. Prepares checks, as required.14. Takes trial balances and makes other financial reports.15. Performs a variety of related clerical account-keeping duties and other clerical tasks such as filing.16. Operates a data entry terminal, as required.
