Southern Westchester BOCES Center for Career Services is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to teach Securities, Law and Policing. This two-year course for high school juniors and seniors provides both classroom and practical experience for students interested in becoming first responders and law enforcement officers. This comprehensive program is a starting point for a student interested in entering the field of law enforcement and/or security or furthering their studies in college. RESPONSIBILITIES:Teach New York State Security, Law and Policing.Curriculum covers many of the following areas: Criminal law, civil law, penal law, policing techniques, criminal procedure law, family court act, crime scene investigations, handcuffing, searching, arrest procedures, finger printing, latent finger printing, weapons and mass destruction awareness, court system, correction law, and forensics. QUALIFICATIONS:Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.New York State Certification of Security Operations 7 – 12.Minimum five years working experience working in law enforcementAbility to work with secondary and special needs students.Knowledge of NOCTI and other industry certifications that leads to certification in security, law and policing.Ability to work collaboratively with staff.
