The Literacy Lab operates within the Southern Westchester BOCES Homeless Student Program and is funded by the McKinney-Vento Grant with the goal of improved attendance, engagement, and academic success of homeless children in Southern Westchester. PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide targeted reading instruction for K-8 students in one or more school districts through June 2023 with an option to extend into the Summer Literacy Lab.Demonstrate and apply best practices in social-emotional learning during each session.Effectively progress monitor to inform instruction and communicate student progress with stakeholders electronically.Co-facilitate meetings with caregivers to share literacy strategies and activities to support reading progress outside of the classroom.Maintain accurate attendance records and communication with program coordinator. QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Certified K-8 teaching certificate required; TESOL, Bilingual, Literacy, and/or Students with Disabilities preferred.
