PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Implements educational technology plans.Researches and links specific software curriculum with the New York State Standards in Reading and Math.Reviews available software with educational partners to ensure alignment with curriculum and subject areas.Assists departments in finding and handling appropriate software.Conducts software reviews and aligns products to curriculum and subject areas (i.e. productivity software, Nearpod, Kami, IXL, etc.).Creates presentations to share with district administrators and/or teachers detailing plans for using educational technology to enhance classroom instruction in the district.Develops and customizes curriculum workshops for individual schools’ curricular needs.Conducts training programs in educational technology for teaching staff within user school districts or withing a school district.Develops and maintains a visitation schedule for each district and/or department in order to plan future training sessions and provide effective training.Has working knowledge of New York State Curriculum Standards and prepares workshops in accordance with state curriculum objectives.Has working knowledge of formative assessments, benchmark assessments and RTI/MTSS as it relates to classroom instruction.Has exposure to inline assessment systems (i.e. Renaissance, NWEA, I-Ready).Coach teachers and administrators face to face, online, and in hybrid learning environments. CIVIL SERVICE QUALIFICATIONS:Associate Degree and four (4) years of experience where the primary function of the position was conducting training using educational technology; or Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years experience conducting training using educational technology; or Master’s Degree and one (1) year of experience conducting training using educational technology.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS: In accordance with the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) legislation, Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and by the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, candidates for appointment in school districts must obtain clearance for employment from the State Education Department prior to employment based upon a fingerprint and criminal history background check.Applicants are subject to Civil service approval/exam for this title and must pass the offered exam and be reachable on the list.
