POSITION: Anticipated Occupational Therapist Civil Service position DESCRIPTION: Stillwater Central School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a school-based OT, you will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students in achieving their academic and developmental goals.Responsibilities:Conduct assessments to determine students' motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and functional performance in educational settings.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and IEP goals.Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in group settings.Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment.Educate and support parents on strategies to promote their child’s independence and participation in school activities.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.Qualifications:Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.Knowledge of educational laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.The candidate must be flexible, and positive, and enjoy working with exceptional and diverse students.SALARY: Per STA Agreement - experience will determine the step of salary PROCEDURE: Apply on OLAS by: August 2, 2024 START DATE: September 2024
