POSITION: 1 ~ Computer Support Technician *This is a CSEA -Civil Service competitive position DESCRIPTION: Works under the direction of Director of Technology ~ Installs and maintains software (including upgrades) on local area networks workstations and stand alone district computers and printers for faculty/staff/students of the school district ~ Troubleshoots software application problems on school computers for the school district ~ Provides phone/email/application support ~ Assists in the proper use of school district computers ~ Assists with the maintenance of inventory records of computers and devices including distribution, monitoring and collection of student devices~ Assists with the process of technology repairs/replacement~ Maintains reports and records as required~ Assists administration and staff with technical support including but not limited to; phones, email, computer, digital TV’s, printers, wireless networks and any other technical equipment~ Assists administration and instructional staff regarding student testing software~ Attends training as needed to fulfill their job requirements~ Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:High School and 2+ years related experienceor a minimum two years of college with concentration in the field of technology or a four year degree Knowledge of the use and operation of personal computers and related peripheral equipment. Knowledge of operating systems application software packages and of computer network systems.
