Job Description: Associate PrincipalSouth Seneca Central School District Supervises: Assigned staff, coaches, and athletic personnel Employment Status: Full-Time, 12-Month PositionSalary: Commensurate with Experience and EducationPosition OverviewThe Associate Principal will serve as a key member of the administrative leadership team within the South Seneca Central School District. This position primarily supports the effective operation of the school through the oversight of athletic programs and collaboration with building principals on matters of student behavior and school culture. The Associate Principal will uphold the district's commitment to academic excellence, equity, and student engagement.Primary ResponsibilitiesBuilding Level Leadership, Collaboration, and DisciplineServe as a liaison between families, staff, and the administration regarding behavioral and athletic concerns.Attend district leadership meetings and contribute to school improvement initiatives.Support the development and consistent enforcement of discipline practices.Support staff with student related needs.Investigate behavioral incidents and administer appropriate interventions and consequences.Maintain accurate student discipline records and report disciplinary trends to administration.Serve as a visible presence in common areas, classrooms, and school events to foster positive relationships and student accountability.Collaborate with principals to uphold building-level expectations and the district's code of conduct.Other duties as assigned Athletic Program OversightServe as the District Athletic Director, ensuring compliance with New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) and Interscholastic Athletic Conference (IAC) regulations.Oversee scheduling of interscholastic athletic contests and transportation.Supervise and evaluate coaches and athletic personnel.Represent the district at league meetings, athletic director conferences, and community functions.Promote sportsmanship, character development, and academic-athletic balance for all student-athletes.Prepare and manage the athletics budget, including equipment inventory, purchasing, and fundraising efforts.Collaborate with support staff.QualificationsNew York State Administrative Certification (SBL or SDL required).At least three years of successful teaching or administrative experience, preferably in K–12 education.Demonstrated knowledge of student discipline systems. And NYS athletics programs.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
